Interested in Volunteering?

Our volunteers are a dynamic network of women with different skills and experiences. Together, we help girls and young women to grow, explore, and believe in themselves.

We offer different volunteer opportunities:

  • leading or helping with your local Guide Unit on a weekly basis
  • taking on a leadership role within a management team
  • occasional skills-based volunteering (e.g. lead a photography class at a Unit meeting)

If you would like to know more about becoming a volunteer with us, complete the online enquiry form or phone 03 6244 4408.

Who are the Leaders?

Leaders are carefully chosen women volunteers who understand and care about the particular needs of girls, and enjoy sharing their time and talents to help girls grow and learn.  All Leaders attend regular training courses to develop the skills, knowledge and confidence to carry out their roles.  Leaders come from all walks of life, and all family and working situations, and work in a team coordinated by the District Manager.

All Adult members are bound to a Code of Conduct and all Girl Guides Tasmania Leaders complete a Keeping Children Safe orientation in relation to policies and procedures regarding the protection of children from abuse.

Girl Guides Tasmania Leaders also agree to a National Police Certificate check by Tasmania Police.
