Cuboree 2021

A Cuboree is a state-wide weekend-long Scout/Guide camp for 8-10 year-olds especially designed to promote the methods of Scouting/Guiding, in an outdoor environment and while having lots of fun!

The Cuboree exposes attendees to activities including: camping, bush craft, obstacle courses, and camp cooking. There are also some activities that are a little more adventurous.

The Cuboree will develop a relationship between the members of the 8–10 year-old Girl Guide Unit and a “Patrol Leader” from the 11–14 year-old Guide Unit. It also provides Patrol Leaders (one or two per 11–14 year-old Guide Unit) with an opportunity to guide the younger members.

The Guides will sleep in tents with their own Unit and are allocated to one of three Sub-Camps. Their leader(s) will be with them in tents of their own. The Sub-Camps will also contain Cubs — similarly aged boys and girls from Scouting. The Patrol Leaders will stay in a different Sub-Camp 100m (or so) away.
All meals are provided and during the days they circulate around Activity Bases — one of which is off-site — enjoying themselves by learning new skills, solving problems, and having fun!

All Guides are required to attend a weekend camp under canvas (in tents) on the weekend of 10-12th September 2021 at Orana so the Guides can practice camping in tents.
The Cuboree will be held on the weekend of 8-10th October 2021 at The Lea Scout Camp.
The youth fee includes the cost for both the Cuboree and Pre-Cuboree camps.

Age restrictions: Guides must be aged 8 by the 8th October 2021.

Transport: Private transport to the Pre-Cuboree camp. For Cuboree transport is included in camp fee from all across the State.
